Vegas Baby!!!!

Ryan and i decide on a trip to Vegas for our Christmas present this year. We had a blast and loved the warm weather. We stayed at the Monte Carlo Casino right on the strip a first for both of us. Great hotel i would recommend it to everyone!

After arriving we headed to the Hard Rock Cafe for a yummy lunch and a great view of the Strip. Yummy BBQ Pork Nachos and fancy drinks.

Here we are at the pool. The Rodeo was in town so Vegas was a little packed but when is it not?

The Bellagio Hotel and Casino has a beautiful free garden to walk through any time of year. For this season it was decorated with beautiful poinsettias and large polar bears made out of carnations. The air smelled like cinnamon and there was Christmas music in the playing. What a fun seasonal activity!

One of the highlights from the trip was visiting the Gold and Silver Pawn shop were the show" Pawn Star" is filmed Ryan especially had a blast and even picked up a mouse pad souvenir.

Over all it was a great trip and it was also great to relax and enjoy what Vegas has to offer!!

844 Steam Engine

There is a few pic of the 844 steam engine as it visited Ogden on November 28th. I loved the sound of the horn, it reminded me of the old black and white movie set in the 20's at a train stain. Loved it!

Kellie's Tech College Graduation

My graduation finally came! A big shout out to my cheering section and all that noise they brought!!! It made me feel so good to hear my family cheering for me! Thanks to everyone for your love and support during my time at the school. I love Medical assisting and i am so happy for my career in healthcare. Thanks to the OWATC for my education, without it i wouldn't be the confident healthcare worker i am. Thanks to the Marketing Dept at the school for the extra money to help with tuition and for allowing me to service the school and community and become a better version of myself. Thanks to Workforce services for my full ride Grant/Scholarship and Jeanne my career counselor for all her support. But most of all thanks to Ryan for his support, encouragement,for his shoulder to cry on and for supporting during my time off from work. I love you!

The Great Pumpkin Carving Contest

I love the Fall and this year's Pumpkin Carving Contest did not disappoint. And i am so proud to say the Ryan won first place. Now we both have a first place under our belts. What a blast and i am so glad Carli and Jake and little miss Addie came this year. It will defiantly be a tradition to have them with us from now on. But they better bring their game faces next year! Thanks to the Lythgoes for hosting the event. A year to remember! LOL

Thanksgiving Point is one of my favorite places to visit. Spring, Summer, or Fall you really can't go wrong. The flowers are beautiful and the picture taking is in abundance. Next year Ryan and I are going to become members. They have so many fun events even in the Winter. Definitely worth the money.

Thanksgiving Point's Giant Pumpkin Weight off

One of the best things for me about Fall are pumpkins! I love bright orange colored pumpkins and i love big ones! The Pumpkin weight off is now becoming a family tradition. The record was broke this year and the new champion weighted in at 1169lbs. It was a great day and the best thing about the event was, it was free. Next year should be very exciting hope to see everyone there.

Agri-culture Utah Stae Fair 2011

Ryan and I attended the 2011 Utah State this year and realized a few things i would like to share,
1.Riding the Ferris wheel is not as romantic as in the movies. (I'm afraid of heights and the ride wobbles like its 100 years old).
2.We can not eat like we are kids. Carmel apples, popcorn, Navajo tacos,and frozen lemonades equal a good time in the mouth, but not in the belly.
3.We can not party like its 1999. LOL, we are going to bed at 10 like it's 2011.
Over all our time at the fair was fun and seeing all the animals and exhibits were well worth the time. We can't wait till next year!

Here are a few pics of our Sunday drive to Pineview Ryan and i enjoyed driving in the hot weather and exploring the valley. It was at least 10 degrees cooler up there then down in Ogden so it was nice to have the windows of the car open and feel the hot wind on my face. we love taking drives and relaxing hand in hand. Hello everyone!!
I wanted to give a update about Ryan and I since some things have chanced recently. I am done being on OWATC campus. I have finished all my classroom work and finals. I have been doing my externship at Ogden Clinic. I have loved being there, but the stress is almost to much to take. i have never seen so many things concerning the human body in my life. I love to help patients, take vitals, and assist everyone in the office with what ever they need. But wow class can't prepare you for the real world. but i love that i can understand what the providers i work with say. I will be at the clinic for a while and hope to be done with my externship before June is over. Wish me luck. Thanks to Ryan for do the dishes and keeping the house clean. i have been so exhausted i slept 16 hours one day and 10 the next. like i said wish me luck!

I have been planning on redoing my laundry room for a long time. Now with a job on the horizon. I hope to have enough money to start my little project. here is a picture of my inspiration. But i defiantly want a lot of wicker baskets in there as well. But the color is pretty close to what i am looking at getting. the color is called Sliver Sage from, Restoration Hardware. Got to love GREEN! I want it to be nice and clean. Some where i wouldn't mind hanging out at (since like most people i visit the laundry room almost daily). I am so happy, today i had my first day of orientation @ Ogden Clinic. With all the paper work i filled out, i feel like i am hired there. I really hope to score a job there after my externship. Cross your fingers for me please. I loved Ogden Clinic's vision for the future and can totally see myself working there. I felt so official today when i got my badge... LOL Thanks to everyone who has supported me the past couple months (you know who you are), i couldn't have done it with out you! I'm getting so nervous about actually working, i haven't worked in a year and a half. but i can't wait to meet some new people, practice my skills as a MA, and have a little adventure. Yeah i can see the finish line!!!

School is slowly coming to an end and i am finding myself in very unfamiliar territory. Today Ryan and I were out to lunch and this was our conversation:
Kellie: " I can't believe I'm almost done with school can you?"
Ryan: " Did you ever think you would make it this far?"
Kellie: (Long pause, and a few tears) " No, i really thought i would have quit."
Kellie: (Lots of tears now)
Ryan: (Holding my hand now) "I knew you could do it." (Smiling)
Kellie: (Crying and i can't see anything now, but smiling) "I couldn't have done it with out you, and i am DANG proud of myself. (crying tears of joy)

I have quit so many things in my life and given up very easily. But since i have become a " new creature"(2Corinthians5:17)my perspective on life has changed. This experience of going to school has been a very challenging one and a very rewarding one as well. I never thought i would have the chance to go to college and make myself and my life better. And i have. I owe every thing and every blessing to our Heavenly father. I'm sure you have heard the quote" when a door closes a window opens" well i have felt like a door closed (getting laid off from Jimmy's) and beautiful french doors opened and red carpet was laid out ( grants, scholarships,friendships and more). i have been blessed beyond my dreams with a wonderful life and i am very thankful. :)

Temple Square 2010

These are our pics from the trip we took to Temple square earlier this month. We rode the Front runner with our friends the Harrops and had a good time. We had dinner at Jason's deli at the gateway then rode tracks over to a very packed Temple square. I have never seen Temple square so packed. I'm not joking when i say it was shoulder to shoulder everywhere. The nativity is better than it has been in years and very beautiful. I loved seeing all the cute sister missionaries around the square with their very contagious smiles. I makes me sometimes wish i would have served a mission. I know i would have been a good missionary. But Ryan has promised me we will go someday and i look forward to that very much. Merry Christmas everyone! I love the Holidays and for some reason this holiday seems extra special i have meet and became friends with so many new people this year in my family as well as at school and i have a heart full of gratitude for all the love i feel for everyone. Ryan and I had a great time in Denver. We saw the Broncos play, went to Colorado Springs(which is beautiful), ate at the Cheesecake Factory twice, walked down 16Th street(loved it), and stay in some really fancy hotels. And had a great time on our little road trip. I was telling Ryan the other night the best part about the trip. Wasn't the game, or the shopping it was when we were playing around in the hotel pool being silly. It's funny how you can't force a magical,and memorable family time. It just kinda happens when you least expect it.

Antelope Island

Ryan and I headed out to Antelope Island this weekend for some R&R. And i was very surprised how nice the park is now. The new visitor's center was very nice and the weather was perfect. I am how ever not good at climbing rock as you can see by the pic below. Luck for me, I caught my camera before it hit the rocks to hard. Ouch! Our picnic on the beach was very nice, and we got a good cardio work out running in the sand. Skipping rocks on the beach was very fun . The Whole day was so relaxing. Plus it was kinda romantic to write our names in the sand too. We both agreed we need to relax more often together.

Here is a look at our San Fran vacation in more detail. We had a really nice time and i highly recommend San Fran to everyone for a vacation. Ryan and i got to pass off one of our bucket list items which was really fun (go to Alcatraz and get in a cell). The food was really good and i enjoyed a piece of sourdough bread every day we were there. we will defiantly go back some day. For some one who doesn't like fish i had a good time. But everything tasted like fish to me even the water.LOL

San Fransisco, Here we come!

I'm so excited the Ryan and i are vacationing in San Fransisco soon. We have been planning our trip for a few weeks now and decided to wait on Hawaii and go all out in San Fransisco instead. We are staying at Fisherman's wharf and plan on taking the trolleys all around town. We hope to visits, Alcatraz, Chinatown, The Golden Gate bridge, Ghirardelli square, and much more. Yeah!

Thanksgiving Point Memorial Weekend

Thanksgiving Point is so pretty this time of year. We when in between the tulip festival and the summer flowers, but there was so many flowers still to see our favorite garden was the secret garden. We had a lady over at Texas roadhouse tell us her friend worked at a cute cafe at the gardens and she would take good care of us. The cafe was gorgeous and eating out side in the warm sun over looking the property was a dream. Then they surprised us with a free desert! Bonus! And as you can see it was yummy. We when to Cabela's and Ryan picked out his Father's Day gifts. And drooled over the guns. We also enjoyed swimming at hotel pool. The weekend when by to fast. I miss you Thanksgiving Point! We will be back.

Our Garden

Ryan and I wanted to grow a garden this year and since we live in a town house, a box garden was the way to go. I am so proud to say Ryan made this box out of redwood and we filed it with soil. It is very exciting to see all our vegetables doing very well. I think it has partly to do with the rain. And to the great soil we purchased. Our garden has, peas, tomato plants, spinach, green peppers, banana peppers, zucchini, lettuce, carrots, and strawberries. I love to look out of our back door and see all the lush greens growing tall. You can see how the garden is growing between the two pic. The time between them is a week. And also my pots i planted. i love the ornamental cabbages, the pots will have different shades of purple. Purple for my Ryan( his fav color),i just love all flowers.

Friday Night Breakfast Night

I have cooked a nice dinner every night for us last week. Which we sat at a nicely set table and ate together as a family. It is exhausting cooking every night from scratch. So Friday i made pancakes. Easy, still for scratch, and delicious! I'm luck to have a husband who will try anything. I remember not to long ago watching him eat a homemade hamburger bun i had made. It was not good. He eat every bite and never said anything bad. Oh how he is patient with his new bride. And all my cooking adventures. My hormonal meltdowns, and cleaning sprees. Love you Snookie!

Mother's Day

I received this beautiful hydrangea for Mother's Day this year. And its still thriving. Thanks to my wonderful hubby. I am thankful for my mother as well as the many women in my life. Women have a tenderness and softness about them and it is beautiful. And like many times i have heard before you don't have to be "mother" to be a "mother". I am starting to understand that more in this season in my life than ever before. And I am thankful for my church calling (Sunbeams) who bring joy and much needed love to my life. And to be alive.

Yeah that's right i am still in school. When one class is over a new one quickly takes its place. That's why when you attend classes at the OWATC you can do a two year degree in twelve months. I have recently switched my program to Medical Assistant. After much thought and consideration i am excited for the change. Now i can provide administrative support as well as clinical. I think this change is good for me and it looks like i will be done in January! Yeah! Wish me luck no rest for the Medical Assistant.

All the girls headed to Park City to celebrate Mom's Birthday in style! We stayed at the gorgeous Newpark Resort. I highly recommend, private hot tub on the deck which i took advantage of. We sat in the hot tub at seven in the morning drinking our orange juice and watching it snow fall from our room. Then headed to the outlet where we did some serious damage! Snowing the whole day; did not stop us from shopping! Great deals all day!

Lava Hot Springs Love

If you get a chance to see Lava Hot Spring in the winter its worth the hour and forty-five minute drive there. The hot pots are great in the winter and feel so good on the joints. Its cheep to get in about $6 and the steam rises of the natural springs to refresh your whole body. We had dinner at the Riverside Inn, which we were told was the best resturant in town. Ryan fell in love with the ribs. Nate and I had the pasta which wasn't bad either. The use of fresh herbs was a nice touch. The night rounded off with an icecream cone and the hot pots, very relaxing. The next morning we had breakfast at Jonny's. Kamie snapped a shot of the "old man welcome wagon" sitting at the bar(pic below). LOL the resturant reminded me of the Toby Keith song "I Love this Bar". Maybe i will let the picture speak for its self. Over all a very nice over night trip. So if you're stressed and need a break. Grab your swimsuit,flipflops,snowboots, and chocolate shower bar and head to Lava Hot Spring Idaho.

Sweets for my Sweethearts

Ryan and I had fun making cupcakes and delivering them on Valentine's Day to our loved ones. I use cherry frosting on top of these vanilla cupcakes, and added red food coloring. They are so easy to make. Enjoy!

CLASSIC VANILLA CUPCAKES

1/2 cup softened butter
3/4 to 1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2/3 cup cold milk

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Bake Time: 18-24 minutes.
Yield: 12 cupcakes.
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating after each addition. Stir in vanilla.In a separate bowl, stir together all dry ingredients. Add to butter mixture; stir in milk.

We went to Grandpa K's B-Day celebration this weekend. I was surprised to see how many people showed up! The food was very great and I'm sure it was a production to put on. Kenzie and I are getting really good at making homemade bread. Its funny what the economy will do to ya. And nothing beats the small of bread baking in the oven even my neighbors have commented. I think we have found that any combo of bread flour and regular flour will make your loaves turn out alot better.The loaves shown are cinnamon raisin and white. Well i guess 30 is not so bad. The turn around moment was when Ryan told me the 30 suited me well and dare he say I was a little sexier at 30 then 29. Thanks to all who helped at the party and for cramming in our little town house! Both Ryan and I know we are loved by many. Thanks to Kenzie for the cake! Think it was your best yet. And if any one asked i had one piece not two. This was my first time stepping back and letting Ryan party plan and he did a great job! Thank you honey for a great Birthday. And for my chalk board wall.I love it. When Ryan and i went to Wal-mart to pick up the sandwich the lady @ the deli gave us a big box to take the sandwich for the party home in. After I arrived home to start cutting it up to my surprise. We had 16 feet of hogie sandwiches to share and thanks to out many friends and family all was ether eaten or given away. Ryan i love you but please check with me first before ordering another sandwich or we might have to stop at a homeless shelter next time. I love you!

Gingerbread Festival

Ryan, Kamie, Maddie and i had so much fun at the Gingerbread Festival down at Thanksgiving point on Saturday. The donations went to the Boy Scouts of America and the Utah PTA. The winner was the Salt Lake Temple and what a sight it was. Just remember when you look at all the pics that they are all gingerbread. And ateable.

This week has been such a great way to say goodbye to the Halloween Holiday after a very thrilling first week of school we celebrated Dad's Birthday Wednesday and Thursday by visiting a haunted house. Dad, Debbie, Kamie and I took a ride in a hearse to the haunt. It was a great night and not to scary.Saturday Ryan and i stayed home and handed out candy to the trick or treaters. I made a big pot of soup and we relaxed all night by watching a scary movie. Another great Halloween with alot of memories.

Good times for all at Thanksgiving Point October 10Th. The day started off with pumpkin pancakes and a visit to Thanksgiving point. Some of the activities of the day were,the giant pumpkin weight off, corn maze, hayrides, corn dogs, Carmel apples, and picking out pumpkins. The little child in me was so excited. All in good in recovery central PT is great and now i can walk up the stairs. I'm at 127 degrees and still not done yet this week i have had a burst of energy and am getting back to feeling like my old self again. Kenzie, Kamie, and I even went to Ikea. Of course i would go shopping even if i had no legs.

Here is a really gross pic of my knee about 3 days after surgery. My surgery went well the first couple days were hard i couldn't do anything for myself and if it wasn't for my sisters and my very patient loving husband i would have been in big trouble. Dr. Byck said i am doing very well.Ahead of schedule. he said no arthritis in my knee and the donor graph looked great my mcl tighten up on its own during surgery. That's great news and my Physical Therapist is very proud of me also. My leg will bend 122 degrees which is quite well after only 2 weeks after surgery. I spend 4-6 hours in my leg machine a day and hope i can get rid of it next week. After a big blow with the pain killers i am finally keeping down food. It was a tough two weeks but i am glad to be up and walking around. Let me tell you taking that first shower after a long time HEAVEN!!! Thank you to all who helped. And to Dad and Debbie for the wonderful home cooked meal and flowers you saved us from another night of crazy bread and Slurpees.We love you all.

Red, White, and The Brave

This was a traveling monument out at the Weber County Fair Grounds. Ryan and i stopped by around the 24th of July to check it out. The story behind all these flags is that a father of solider was driving around this yellow mustang waiting for his son to come home from Iraq. When his son was killed in the war the father was devastated and wanted to raise awareness of the soldiers in Iraq. So he travels the US hosting the monument and it is quit a sight to see. We thank the people who risk their lived to keep us safe at home. It was a great opportunity to practice my photography as well enjoy!

Changes are always happening and i am thankful. Recent change in my employment has lead to opportunities i didn't even know were out there. Monday after i lost my job i wasn't sure what to do. Little did i know with in the next 48 hours my life has been opened up to a new world. With a grant to go to school and a alot of job offers i find. Ryan and i in a great world wind of changes. Thank you all for your loving support and believing in me i have been so unhappy at Jimmy's and hanging on to a dead end job i forgot what really matters. Happiness!! Life is to short to be unhappy. St. George, here we come. Ryan and i spent the weekend in St. George, really enjoying the heat(100 degrees). We visited the St. George Temple and what a beautiful Temple it is. Shopping was next, then off to the Tuacan after that. What a beautiful stage and the red rocks behind it. We saw Footloose and had a blast. The cement was so hot we burned our feet at the pool! The Desert is such a beautiful place. We really had a hard time coming back to work on Monday. And don't feel to bad for Ryan that he had to go shopping with me. On the way home we spent two hours at Cabelas.....Ah.......!LOL

Oquirrh Temple Open House With The Elmers

What a beautiful day it was to visit and see the inside of the Oquirrh Temple. We went with Ryan's family and had a great day. Here are a few facts about the Oquirrh Temple,

* On October 1, 2005 the First Pres. Announced construction

*The Oquirrh Mountain Temple is number 130th Temple and the 13th in Utah

* Oquirrh was taken form the Goshute Indian word meaning "wooded mountain"

* The Temple is located in West Jordan

Thanks to the Elmer Family for getting tickets and sharing with us the spirit only the Temple can bring. Ryan and i both love to visit the Temple. Its a great reminder of our Heavenly Father's love for each of us.
